Thunderstorms will develop within the next couple of hours, and some of them could be severe with hail and winds the main threats. The storm threat could also impact high school football games, so be aware of threatening weather conditions and be prepared to seek a sturdy structure should lightning become an issue. The risk for severe weather will last through roughly 11 pm, before transitioning into a heavy rain threat.

Beginning Saturday, impulses from an upper-level storm system will ride along a stationary front, creating widespread showers and thunderstorms. The heaviest rainfall appears to be lining up from southern through northeast Kansas.
